The non-doctor receptionist is highly unprofessional and misgendered me more than three times. The staff member also disallowed me from conversing with a pharmacist. The lack of humility resulted in the staff member not grappling with their own limitations as a non-medical expert. I intended to speak with a doctor who has extensive expertise. From my understanding, speaking on behalf of a licensed pharmacist without the credentials is fundamentally misguided. I value empirical, evidence-based medicine from vetted doctors. For context, the lack of decorum occurred today, 5/15/2026 at 5:33pm CT via phone. I would strongly recommend a mandated Performance Improvement Plan and DEI training. In the meantime, I will no longer use you all’s services.

I find it surprising at the type of people that work here. Considering this is such a decent neighborhood. They really need to consider hiring a different class of people. I got stuck with a really nasty cashier. Now I understand why employers don’t hire certain groups of people. It’s their bad attitudes.

Update: store is no longer open 24hours. The pharmacy hours have been cut even more. On a Saturday the pharmacy closes at 6pm? This is Chicago. Albertsons continues to ruin Jewel-Osco. I LOVE the staff at this location. They are awesome, but Albertsons cutting hours so much is very disappointing. I ask Albertsons to PLEASE return the store to being open 24hrs and the pharmacy as well. This is downtown Chicago. Please. Original Review: The store is open 24/7, but this pharmacy is no longer open 24hrs a day. Since this happened, the service of this pharmacy leaves a lot to be desired. Everyone that works here are GREAT, but it seems way understaffed now, and since they are no longer open 24hrs, prescriptions take way longer to be filled. I would welcome a return of 24hr pharmacy service because they seemed to be A LOT better when that was the case. Plus, I live a life where I work at odd hours and the fact they were open 24hrs was a HUGE reason both my gf and myself switched our prescriptions over in the first place. Please consider reopening 24hrs or bring in more people so service improves because it needs it. Thanks!

I was accused of stealing, I'm a Security Officer by education and experience. If I was the Security guard at any location, I would have asked for a receipt before I accused anyone of stealing. Thank God I had my receipt. One less customer, won't hurt them. Only drawback for me? Jewel Osco was my favorite place to shop. My money can be used anywhere, Thanks for EMBASSINGE

I've had decent experiences with this pharmacy in the past, but today was shocking. Two staff members, including the pharmacy manager, were extremely impatient and unhelpful when I needed assistance with a vacation supply of my medication. This required a call to my insurance, but they flat-out refused, first saying they wouldn't call, then claiming they didn’t have time. When I explained that I urgently needed my medication for an upcoming trip, the manager stepped in and, rather than helping, yelled at me, accusing me of wasting their time, before abruptly hanging up. I was left with no choice but to transfer my prescription to Walgreens to ensure I had my medication in time. If anyone from store management reads this, I strongly urge you to investigate this incident. No customer should be treated with such disrespect, especially when it comes to their health.

The staff was exceptionally helpful in trying to track a missing Rx I had foolishly ordered to be sent via USPS. This problem was NOT their fault. The package did not show in the USPS tracking service for 13 days, until it arrived (finally) just before I ran out of this needed med. The package almost could have walked the 6 miles to my home faster! The staff very patiently explained their policies and what my options would be IF the package ended up entirely missing. I was too cheap to opt for their reasonably priced special delivery service, a mistake I will not make in the future. On other occasions over the past year, they have been polite and helpful, even though I am using a coupon service, which means far less profit for them. Their prices with my coupon are very good. There is almost never a long wait like at my local BIG chain competitor. I have to take a bus and walk a half mile to arrive there, but that inconvenience is well worth the effort. I recommend using this pharmacy to all my friends.

I attempted to refill one and was prescribed a second new prescription within a seven day period. The first was out of stock and the second medication could only be partially filled. I had to accept a name brand for the first rather than the generic because I waited too long to order the refill and I paid accordingly. The only alternative was to drive miles to another Osco for the medication. They also neglected to tell me that there was a 50% off coupon online for the name-brand medication. I think, under the circumstances, they could have suggested this possibility to me. These are common medications you see in TV commercials. I have also been both victim and passive spectator to pharmacy staff placing people on hold and opting never to actually respond to the call. One pharmacist was actually rude, probably a first in my fifty odd years. The only time I experience long-hold periods on the phone (the only time I wanted to speak directly to pharmacy staff), I actually ARRIVED in person at this location still on hold to find no phone ringing and no customers waiting. In fact, there was not a single customer in the 20 minute period I was there (albeit, I think this was an anomaly). No excuse.

I've used this pharmacy for years because it's close, but I've had it. 1 out of 4 times they screw up my prescriptions, and more than that they don't have meds in stock. The pharmacists are nice but never have enough help. I even scheduled a vaccine appointment online to avoid a mess, just to get there and be told by the tech that appointments don't mean anything, that they were too busy, and that they wouldn't give me the vaccine and I should come back later, and absolutely no apology. I'm done.
